We came into work today and saw the live feed of the BP oil leak and we had to do something quick.  This AT&T Blanket Commercial was so pretty and pleasant, it was just the perfect spot to re purpose.  So we made some crude VFX of crude oil. To promote MTV’s new scripted comedy series we created a campaign referred to internally as “The Moment of Awe.”  The spot show’s the show’s lead character, RJ Berger, having his pants yanked down in front of the school and all the reactions from the cast in super slow motion.  We were so lucky to get the whole cast for the shoot.  It took a lot of prep to block it all out, and we shot during one 14-hr day.  If you prefer bigger size, here’s a larger Quicktime.  And here is the 30-sec version and the 45-sec version.  It was a really fun project, thank you everyone involved.  Enjoy all the project details below and for background and behind the scenes of the show visit the Hard Times home page.
